The beauty of the design of DuraGrass is that you don’t remove it. You keep it installed in your lawn to continue to protect the new grass that you have grown. You can seed directly through DuraGrass season after season.
The plastic of DuraGrass is recyclable, if you do ever decide to remove it, many years down the road.

DuraGrass can be installed in any season. Because of the green turf blades, it will immediately patch any area regardless of season, and keep that area looking green all year long.
We recommend installation alignied with your climate’s grass-growing best practices.
If the ground is frozen, it will be difficult to anchor the DuraGrass to the ground – you may wish to wait until the ground thaws.
Recyclable LDPE #4 plastic.
DuraGrass is 100% recyclable.
DuraGrass turf is completely free of PFAS and other potentially harmful chemicals
The expected life of DuraGrass depends on the amount of wear. In most cases, where foot, paw and wheel traffic is minimal, DuraGrass will continue to protect your grass for 7-10 years. In areas or situations with high-wear, the expected life could be reduced to 3-5 years due to the grass-like blades being worn down by contact.
DuraGrass is made of a durable material, but if you do have worn areas or something caused DuraGrass to tear it can be replaced easily with another patch of DuraGrass. Simply cut out the area around the worn or torn area, cut a new piece of DuraGrass to exactly fit that area and anchor it to the ground and to the existing DuraGrass with the provided bio-degradable anchors.
Anything that typically grows in your garden can grow through DuraGrass. The apertures in DuraGrass are about 1/2″ in size. If you want anything larger than that to grow through, cut an “X” in the DuraGrass where you have planted the larger vegetation – that will prevent DuraGrass from stunting the growth of that plant.
DuraGrass is designed to be quite a bit different than a traditional artificial turf. The most obvious difference is the 50% perforated design of DuraGrass that allows real grass to grow through it. Once grass or other vegetation grows through DuraGrass, the hybrid turf design protects the crown of the plant so when worn down, it can regenerate.
DuraGrass does not require a different maintenance routine. Since real grass grows through DuraGrass, you trim and mow the grass as normal – making sure the mower blades are at least 7.5cm above the ground to clear the hybrid turf structure. We recommend occasional observation of the anchors and seams to assure they are not coming up from the ground. If there are loose areas, they can be resecured with additional anchors and a mallet.
DuraGrass does not trap odors or heat like traditional artificial turfs. Since our product design allows the earth to breathe through the hybrid turf, the surface remains a temperature similar to grass surfaces.
DuraGrass works on several levels.
- It covers bare areas in your yard so they don’t look brown and lead to muddy areas when it rains.
- It allows real grass to grow up through it, when grass grows through DuraGrass, you may observe that you can no longer see the DuraGrass hybrid turf. When that is the case, DuraGrass is still there protecting the grass from being worn down completely.
- The design of the hybrid turf blades are high enough to protect the crown of the plant (grass), this is the area that is critical for regeneration of the plant.
Maintenance and cleaning are very similar to how you maintain a traditional grass lawn. You can mow directly over DuraGrass (assure mower blades are 3 inches or higher).
